End of Season Message

A Note from the League .....

Northwest Connecticut Recreational Soccer League (NCTRSL) would like to thank all the town and school representatives, committee chairs, referees, coaches, players, and parents alike for a great 2017 fall soccer season!  It is obvious that the dedication of our coaches and players to the league’s goal of ‘getting back to basics’ was a wondrous success.  Our focus on skills, sportsmanship, field locations, and positions was seen in the increased level of play by all players and teams by the end of the season.  Our hope is that every player who participated this year achieved their own personal objectives and can look forward to the next soccer season, be it with NCTRSL or in middle school.  Congratulations to all!

An additional congratulations to both the Barkhamsted Upper team 1 (Tsunami) and the Norfolk Lower team 1 (Road Runners) for winning their divisions. The competitions were exciting and the level of play elevated to new heights. All teams should be proud of their accomplishments.

I would personally like to thank everyone that made this year such a success... those who came together to make everything run smoothly across the entire season.  From the town chairs – Mike S. for Barkhamsted, Dan W. from Colebrook, Wayne N. from Hartland, Jess B. from Norfolk, Kevin C. from Winsted; as well as others, such as Carm D. who was in charge of all the referees, to Mike S. in charge of the scheduling, to Jill A. in finance, and all the other people who refereed, organized equipment swaps, lined fields, ran food tables, and more.  It was the donation and dedication of their time that made this all happen, and I thank each of you for your volunteerism.  We are optimistic that they have inspired you to volunteer some of your time next year as well.

The league is always looking to improve on the year prior. Again this year we will be sending out a year end survey.  We hope you will take a few minutes to help us help the league.  Please be honest and let us know what went well and what we could improve upon.  In addition, this year we added soccer camps and HS homecoming and other extra activities... we will be offering the same opportunities next year.  If you have any other community activities that you would like the soccer league to participate in, let us know.

Please look for emails and fliers in June for all the details on registrations for the 2018 Fall season.
Thank you, and I am already looking forward to next year!
